Designing for High-Density Vacation Living
The Goal: A Versatile Rental Asset
A property owner in Seacrest Beach required a multi-functional outdoor area for a vacation rental. The objective moved beyond a simple platform. The project required a dedicated grill space, a dining area, and added privacy for guests returning from the beach. Success meant providing a durable, low-maintenance environment where guests could cook and relax outdoors throughout their stay.
How We Did It: Precision Spatial Planning
The primary hurdle involved the extremely limited footprint available for the build. With only 120 square feet to work with, Gulf Coast Decks prioritized careful brainstorming and custom fabrication:
- Compact Dining Solutions: To accommodate seating without blocking movement, our team built a custom table that fits into the space.
- Zero-Obstruction Design: The design allows barstools to tuck underneath, keeping the floor area clear when not in use.
- Functional Flow: We calculated the clearances to allow a guest to operate the Bull Outdoor Kitchen without interfering with others at the dining table.
- Heat-Reflective Surface: We selected Owen’s Corning WearDeck in Barefoot Sand.
- Barefoot Safety: This material is engineered to stay cool under the Florida sun, allowing guests to walk comfortably barefoot after a day at the shore.
- Coastal Fastening: Following our “Zero Compromise” standard, we applied Simpson stainless steel fasteners.
- Corrosion Resistance: This hardware resists the aggressive salt-air decay common in Seacrest Beach.
- Clean Surface Execution: Camo Edge Deck Screws were installed to hide all fasteners, providing a smooth finish throughout the rental property.
A Lasting Impression
Gulf Coast Decks resolved the problem of a limited yard by delivering a small but highly useful outdoor destination. The Seacrest Beach property now features a professional-grade space that adds measurable value to the vacation rental.
Every square inch serves a purpose, allowing guests to transition from the beach to the grill with total ease.
